I can relate, Murrill. I chose to retire early from government work, so my pension will be near poverty level. Because of the pension I can now only work part-time in government positions, and truth be told, I need a change, so I'm taking some classes to shift gears into a new but related field. Who knows what the job market will hold, but I've decided to take the risk. It sounds like you had no choice, but maybe this is an opportunity. Have you thought about how your skill set might apply to non-government work? Because I work for the state, I could go to another state and work full time if necessary. I don't know if that's an option for you. Doors will open one way or another... Buena suerte!
