The Beast Sings Country Songs - Add Your Songs

Music is and has always been a huge part of my life. My musical history and preferences run the gamut, I really can listen to almost anything.

Over the last 10 years I've leaned more towards country music. I like some of the creative writing and that you usually can actually hear and understand the lyrics.

Since abstaining from alcohol, I keep noticing the Beast appearing in so many of my favorite country songs.

Some examples are "Hey Bartender", "Drunk On A Plane, "I Love This Bar", "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", "Sangria", "Red Solo Cup", "Beers Ago"...

When I hear these songs now, all I hear is the Beast singing, nothing else. No doubt Country songs have more alcoholic content than just about any other genre.

Does anyone else hear the Beast singing in the songs they hear?

Any more song titles?

SDH73, I thought of "Alcohol" today, but didn't hear it on my country station I was listening to...Brad Paisley currently has a new song called "Crushin' It" where he sings of drinking beer (Bud Light) and crushing the cans, they even have the sound effect of crushing an empty can in the song...

I could search and find all kinds of my favorite country songs the Beast sings and post them, but it's more fun (and enlightening) to hear them and recognize the Beast singing spontaneously when it happens and then post them.

toadie ,I haven't heard that Bud Light song , that was my drink of choice . Yes better to hear them being played . I can only listen to music for a few minutes , still after 2 years sober . That's almost my biggest trigger . Sad to cause I loved to dance Doesn't bother me to talk or think about songs ...

NWE, I get it...music and music videos (I have big collections of both) can trigger, but I'm learning not to let it by hearing the Beast in them!

"When I See This Bar" & "The Good Stuff" from Kenny Chesney...though the "The Good Stuff" could be an anti beast song actually!

I usually have a country station on when gardening, it might as well be called "live streaming songs about ethanol…

When I first heard this song which is blatantly about an alcoholic I was waiting for the last verse to make some sort of comment about how this guy's life was better, sadly didn't happen.

Jaynie, I have the video of that song, and it shows the drunk(est) guy in a very favorable light...I'm not shocked or appalled, Blake Shelton is aiming for comedy, but down deep it says something serious(ly wrong) about us.

have some great young friends that are singers and music players.. one said this .. "You will never hear a song of my Child is the Star of the Honor Roll.. or My Son in Uniform gave his all... or My Beautifull Daughter of Grace Light and Joy".... even some of the old songs of the Rat Pack bring me to tears and I turn them off... have a CD of childrens music that I play in the car every so often ... when I just can't stand to Hear the Beast Roar with Laughter over the plight of Human Kind... yep..
