| Groundhog Doktor says "at least" another month on crutches !!
WAH !!!!! I was so ready to graduate to a cane. It's only been 6 weeks though and I pretty much crushed my Frankenlaig. Doc says that in a month if my bone hasn't healed enough hed put a "bone stimulator" on my laig. I asked him if it would work on my weiner. LOL. Oh well, it is what it is I reckon.

I've never seen a bone stimulator but they need to name it something else. That name totally cracks me up. Must keep calm.... YouTube - Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See - Paris 1993

(((Windy)))) - trust me, you want to make sure the bone has enough time to heal up right. Ortho never was my specialty when I was a nurse, so I typed in "bone stimulator" to find out what one looked like. They must have known it was you I was looking for because the things that came up were squeaky dog bones, and other various stimulators I'm not allowed to mention here ![]() Just think, you'll be all healed up in time for snow skiing this winter Hugs and prayers! Amy

((Windy)) - wow, when you decide to break your leg, you don't mess around, huh? I had an x-ray of my back/hips done the other day. My dr's really cool, and pretty blunt. His "official" diagnosis was that my back is "f'd up". Great. Guess we could use the same diagnosis for your leg, right now, huh? Hugs and prayers! Amy

((Windy)) - have you checked with your dr. about neurontin? This is NOT medical advice, but it's a med for nerve pain. I take it for my sciatica...non narcotic, though it does make me sleepy. My stepmom has taken it so much and for so long it doesn't make her sleepy. Maybe just ask about it? I know the nerve pain is a b***h and when I initially ruptured the disc in my back, the narcotics didn't help it anyway, but the physical therapy and neurontin did. Get your iced coffee and hope ou get to feeling better soon. I had a customer at work last night, we were trying to talk his 4-year-old daughter into eating her grilled cheese sandwich because she was healing up from a broken arm. I was telling him about your leg. He is from Sarajevo (sp?) and said he's been skiing since he was 4, and hasn't broken a bone...wife, same story. I told him about your daughter breaking her arm last year, so hopefully, you guys are through for the year!! Heck, if I even LOOKED at skis, I'd probably break something! Hugs and prayers! Amy

Thanks Kitty. They did give me neurontin while I was in the nervous hospital. I know a pharmacist who mixes neurontin with a penetrating oil to make a paste you rub on the wound. My buddy with the gimp back swears by it. I'm gonna get me some and thanks for reminding me of that med.
