| A New Plan
Well, like I said on Poppy's thread, I drank this past weekend . . . quite a lot. The very nice - very, very young (they just keep getting younger) - doc today put me on Elavil to help with nerve pain from alcoholic neuropathy, insomnia and help with depression and quit smoking. Plus vitamins (I take a daily, but it couldn't keep up, I guess). Naturally . . . he told me I really needed to quit drinking. If I can ever get them to call me back, I'm going with an outpatient program. It is not based on 12 steps but does encourage that participation. we'll see how it goes. He won't prescribe Campral until I'm off alcohol for at least a week. Anyway, I feel better tonight. Still doing the SMART thing (or working at it) and the "Letting Go of Fear" thing. Bad news is the nerve damage is likely permanent, but I can stop it here. But then I found an older thread here where people say it got better when they stopped drinking for several months. Again, we'll see how it goes.

A "NEW" Plan is always good to have. Good luck and just keep trying. I gotta hit the SMART tool box myself here.
