Helo - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I'm 27 days sober,and was desperately trying to find an alternative to AA. Not that I didn't learn a lot and meet some genuine and caring human beings,who I still count as friends in 3 yrs of AA. But I found AA at best archaic, and at worst totalitarian. There isn't just ONE way, and the god 'as you understand him' bore remarkable similarities to the Christian one. (him!?...what possible use has a possible god got for a penis).
Anyway I'm here to share and listen 'cos that always helped a lot,whilst I wait for details of a local S.O.S meeting. I'm so glad the folk on these forums are wonderfully open minded and amiable. Take care

yes there are many alternatives...cruise the threads...alot do AA but many do not. I think there are some threads at the top of different sections that help as well.

Had to say I just loved it!!!!!

My HP has niether a penis or a vagina!

Welcome. There are threads at the top of the forum that may be useful. One has links to different types of secular recovery including SMART and S.O.S.

I attend SMART recovery. It is self help group, if you do not have it in your town they do have a websight.

seems I got redirected here,from another forum where I hope I didn't cause offense. Having now had a proper scout about, it seems sober recovery caters for all creeds/non creeds and philosophies...Marvelous
