Start a LifeRing meeting in your hometown, in any country, like Canada!

Don't have a secular recovery group or a LifeRing Secular Recovery meeting in your hometown? Start a meeting there, it takes some time and commitment but there is help all the way. It is actually fairly easy to get one set up and there is a huge resource base between our website, service office and other convenors around the world.

I live in Victoria BC and I have just organized and started the first LifeRing meeting here. There are two others up Island and some in Vancouver and Ontario but this is a first for Victoria. There was such a huge gap in Victoria for alternative approaches to twelve-step meetings and many people, both professionals in mental health and addictions, and people with alcohol and drug abuse issues are very happy we showed up.

If you have any questions at all you can e-mail me or our service office in California. The criteria is that you should have at least six months sobriety or more or be a worker in the field of addiction. If you are a worker, the deal is that you get the meeting started and running, and then you pass it along to a competent person with enough clean and sober time.
