I have 2 kids, 10 and 6, and have tried to find Al-a-tot meetings for them to no avail. More importantly, I need information on what to tell them about alcoholism in an age appropriate way, especially for my 6 year old. Does anyone know where to find out how to talk to this age child? The schols do this so I thought I'd start there. Thanks! Mamabear06

Al-Anon has a book for little kids. It is called "what's drunk mommy?" it helped me explain to my 6 yr old what was going on with their dad. hope this helps.

Hi Mamabear, I can suggest a book " I wish Daddy didn't drink so much" By Judith Vigna it has a section in the back about how to talk to kids about alcoholism. I got it at the local library, they can order it from other libraries if the don't have it on the selve. Good luck!!
