I am a single parent to a wonderful one year old little girl. Her father has gotten 3 dw's in the past year and a half. Along with a addiction to cocaine. He has been in and out of several different treatments. He is now taking me to court because I have to be with him during the visits with our daughter. I don't trust him by himself with our daughter he has no drivers license and has drank with me and I had no clue. He also would like every other weekend. I really don't feel safe with this. I what to know if I am being over protective or if people would do the same thing. I don't think that at 23 years old that this is going to be the last time he ever drinks. He has set himself into a patteren. he can only stay clean for around 6mos and now is about the time where he will do start to drink or use again. I don't understand addiction. Do I have a reason to worry? Thank you so much for listening...

that is a defenseless baby... no.. I don't think your overreacting... at all. when he has shown on an ongoing basis that he would put the welfare of his child over his own desires.. then maybe... till then.. he needs a babysitter. | |

I agree with Bike and Gabe.... The man appears to have trouble taking care of himself..... Can't imagine how he is capaable of taking care of a baby.
