Every time I read this quote, I am reminded of these boards.
Lots of understanding ears here.
Important things come out, and healing begins.
And that...is a very good thing.

It's that incredibly strong feeling of being alone in my thoughts and the equally strong belief that no one could possibly relate to them that drove me so many times to the edge. Uniqueness is such a vile fellow.

You're right Gabe, we are kindred spirits. I love Stephen King and I remember that passage. There have been many things I was too scared to say out loud, but once I did, it didn't seem so bad, especially if the person I shared my secret with had an understanding ear.

Another lesson of recovery and relationships - some things are better left unsaid and some things need to be said, but not all things need to be said to all people.
