| legally i did the right but
ok Ive been sober almost 2 years (june 16) and I found that i since I got sober i either dont react or I over react (that mainly cause others problems) I set a line for myself years ago when I learned of the problems childrens services can cause that I would never call unless i had first talked to the parent etc. Now on saturday my beautiful Davina who will be 4 june 16 told me that R washes her privates (davina is in foster care and has been for over a year she was not taken from my custody she was taken from dad) I did not know who R was my first though was is this a sexually abused child acting out or what anyways I called the emerg line (dont have foster parents no#) and found out that R is her 21 year old daughter now untill this I had a great realanship with the foster mom but now she will probably hate me. and has probably gotten into trouble because this goes in her file. I know that legally i did the right thing but should I have waited to have the foster parent call me (she calls weekly) my heads just spinning because also when it was time to leave davina had a hissy fit like I have never seen before she absolutely refuse to go home (hitting kicking everything) she has never had a problem going back before since she moved there (she has only been in this home since nov and this is her 7th home)did I cause the problem or was it by her telling me that little bit a sign of something more going |

Shelly, I'm not sure what you're dealing with here. At four, most kids are able to wash themselves in the bathtub. But if someone is bathing her, it doesn't necessarily mean that what she said indicates sexual abuse. If you have alerted the people who oversee her foster care, I'm sure they will look into it. It's never the wrong thing to inquire about your child's care, especially if you think something is wrong. Peace, Gabe |
