too late to tell him how i feel? About a month ago a co-worker and I went out as friends. He's 5 years younger than me and a recovering addict. I've called him a few times, and I've asked him about going out again, and the first time he said yes and he'll call, and then the times i've called.. it's like we'll talk about 5 minutes, and then when i ask about doin something that night he's had plans but says says ill call ya. Could he be overwhelmed? He's always been nice on the phone im just wondering if its too late too tell him how i truly feel.

Welcome to SR.... ![]() I don't know how you feel about the guy...however I would be looking for a man without addiction baggage. Do you have any experience with addiction/recovery? It's a complicated long term issue with lots of problems. I hope you will find someone to cherish you. Blessings

I realized we had a lot in common (same interests, views) before he expressed he was an addict. When he did he opened himself up so much. I could tell he was really trying to improve his life. In fact, he quit his job because of the stress the manager put him under, which from what I understand caused him to want to use again. He also goes to meetings and talks to his counselor daily. Im just not sure how addicts deal with new relationships. I thought he was interested since we talked about goin to dinner and karaoke again, but I just see something special in him despite his illness, and wanna get to know him more.
