Hello hello hello!

Hello to all my old pals over in pain!!!

Ok.
That looks weird, but you who remember me
know what I meant.

I've posted the bla bla bla
over in F&F for those who might want to reAD IT.

But I've news for all those here
who stuck with me all those months
while this whole pain thing went from bad to worse.

I'm almost completely off the Ultram.
The doc had perscribed oxycodone
and I just couldn't take it and be in school.

Finally,
a few weeks ago
things got REALLY bad
I was throwing up at least three times per day

and finally it turned to blood.

Went to the doc -
W/o $$$ for an appropriate test -
she had to go on the hunch
it was an ulcer
or an esophagial tear.

she gave me an assortment of useless stuff
then finally
this pill
that I call 'powder4 bandage'

and that did the trick.

I asked the doc to increase my thyroid medication.
And she wouldn't do it.

So I took the step
fand I sighed then told her
that I intended to go home
and increase it myself
gradually
being very careful and all that.

So she relented and increased it.

Within two weeks -

my pain - bone joint - ALL of it

is nearly gone.

SO
next semester -
I'm buying the health insurance through the college
and going to an endocrinologist.

I want to try the natural hormone.

I've a feeling that's the answer I've been waiting for.

See -

when your thyroid is off
too high or too low
the same symptoms manifest.

bone pain - BAD bone pain
is one of the most common symptoms.
- I've been telling her this for almost TWO YEARS.

I'm almost completely off the ultram
and no way am I taking they hydro.
It's probably the ultram
that gave me the ulcer.
But that will be healed soon enough.

When I get achey
(and it's coming winter here
I've HAD some pain - )
but I can take a motrin gelcap
and it's fine.

I went to the doc today
and told her about the difference.
I think she was unreasonable in not raising the hormone
and told her so.

I got the hairy eyeball
but she had to admit that it seemed to be the thing for me.

I'm telling yall this because
some of you have been though this pain
thing - thick and thin
with me over the years.

I've missed you all
hope that things are getting better for you as well!
will go read now and get caught up a bit!

Hey there BarbD

That is just the best news ever !!! Good for you taking care of your needs and becoming your own "patient advocate". You were assertive with the doc without being aggressive, can't do it any better than that.

I am so glad you're feeling better, off the nasty meds and that the pain is nearly gone. You _so_ deserve to live pain free. You done good

Mike

((((hello ))))

yep - another week - and it's the same.

so we either step it up to the dose I'm doing now -
which will be fine -
but I really REALLY want to try the 'natural' thyroid hormone.

And -
I've even started walking up the stairs once per day
( I live on the fifth floor so that's saying something)

so good to see everyone!
I've heard this past week that the insurance may not be what I'm looking for
so week after t-giving
I'm going down to talk to the Fin aid People.

Am all registered and paid off for next semester.

We'll see!
