Question TMJ Pain Flair Up

Hello everyone! I just found this new topic area, and I'm glad I did. I really need some feedback because I don't know what to do.

In August, I detoxed from xanax. Everything has been going great. My anxiety and depression is in check and I'm living life to the fullest!!

I suffer from TMJ disorder. My right jaw joint is the size of a 3 year olds, and it does not fit into the socket. I have been to a craniofacial specialist and I have a bite splint/mouth guard that I wear at night to keep me from clenching and grinding.

I am having a flair up and I don't know what to do. I need more than what I have to get me out of this flair up.

Since it is Friday, my primary Doctor's office is closed. Even if it wasn't I know I couldn't get an appointment for at least two weeks.

My craniofacial specialist is an hour away and the same thing applies for an appointment.

Do I go to urgent care? I don't mind doing that, but I already know that ibuprofin or darvocet is not going to alleviate my pain. Everyone is so suspicous of drug seeking that it makes it impossible to get anything.

I also suffer from fibromyalgia and it is flaring up right now too.

I'm not asking for a lifetime supply of anything. I just need to get out from under this flair up.

WHAT SHOULD I DO????

Thanks,

When I have a flare-up, I use an ice pack against my jaw, and I take Naproxen for it, which is an anti-inflammatory. My joints on each side of my jaw are deteriorating. I also have a mouth guard, but I always end up spitting it out in my sleep.
