i was wondering if anyone here on pain management (not the anti pain management people) but the pro pain management people, has been on er morphine sulfate and has also at one time or another been on methadone. i am taking the er morphine but have never been on the methadone and was recently offered a choice between the two. im just wondering how the two compared. dose wise and effectiveness. my pain is all back and nerve type and spinal cord pressure. thank you for your responses in advance. |

I am here MROBI. I too take pain medication for my chronic pain. I am not against all pain meds unless you are using them for reasons other than what they are prescribed for. I am afraid I dont have any personal experiance with these two meds, but I will tell you that I have friend who just got changed to Methadone. She loves it. She has tried all different kinds of meds and she said that she has never had the relief that she gets from methadone. She did say that it takes a while for it to build up in your system. She is also a drug and alcohol councilor and said that it is one of the safer drugs that are out there. I hope this helps. Just didnt want you to think you are alone on here |
