| New to Forum Just want to say hello and introduce my self to you folks. I found this forum about a week ago and have been trying to post a message with no luck. I am recovering from a Ulnar shortening surgery about 3 months ago and have been having a real rough time with horrible pain and not sleeping, this was the 9th surgery that I have had for my wrist problem so it has been very problematic. I have been on Percocet for pain relief... about the only thing that works now. I have been involved in AA for many years thank God. It seems like I am becoming more and more less tolerant of the pain.... Like it gets harder and harder to deal with it emotionally and physically. I am really emotional and crying alot..... Which sucks when you think you are a tough Irishman! Feel as though I am reaching my limits as far as how much I can take. I am going to hook up with a Pain management Dr next week thank God..... I really need the counseling part right now. A little worried on the medication deal, I had a bad experiance in the past. Anyway..... This forum has given me more hope thanks to your experiance, strength and hope. Thank you so much. |

welcome & sorry you had to find us. I have some chronic pain as well, and like you I notice I don't tolerate pain as well as I used to. I applaud you going to a pain specialist, there are some good ones out there! Hopefully they can help without relying so much on the meds. |
