| same planet...different world | Anyone heard of this stuff??? Radon Health Mines, Basin, Montana Radon mines for arthritis? Turns out - there's one less than fifty miles from here. In fact ... ALL of them are in Boulder, which is fifty or so miles from here. IO saw an ad on tv about this, and thought I'd bring it up here on the forum to see if anyone has done this stuff. Kinda flies in the face of all the radon gas stuff we hear about , huh? Maybe because it's only for a limited time or something? ![]() What's next - exfoliating with mud from the Berkley Pit? (one of the most toxic mining waste sites in the world, for those who don't know) yep. Right here in beautiful uptown Butte.

The issue with radon is that it is one of the 'weaker' radioactive elements. This is one reason why it used to be the active component in some forms of radiotherapy (radiation therapy). Radon is the second most common cause of lung cancer, after cigarette smoking. In addition, I noticed from the article this mine also contains uranium.

I don't either, Liz, don't feel alone in that. I wonder if this is something like people who wear copper bracelets or magnets for arthritis or something. It's probably on fire right now, anyhow - there's a good sized forest fire right over the hill from Butte this weekend.
