| Medication Information Thank you all for your participation in this forum. Everyone is doing a wonderful job of avoiding medical advice. Almost every post tells the member to see their doctor and you are all avoiding medical advice. I think we may be crossing the line with medication information. Members should seek information from their physician, psychiatrist, or pharmacist with medication questions. This includes what the medication is, what is does, and what the side effects are. You may also post a link to information. Here are a couple of links. RxList - The Internet Drug Index for prescription drugs and medications WebMD Health - Drug Index This is different from sharing your own experience. I will often tell others that I avoid Paxil or Effexor because of the potential for withdrawal complications. That is my personal preference and is not medication or medical advice. I just will not use these medications. I wouldn't tell others not to take them or stop taking any medication that has been prescribed by their doctor. When someone asks about Welbutrin I can say that it gave me insomnia and caused negative side effects, but it works well for others. Talk to your doctor and have him monitor your side effects. If someone asks what the difference is between oxycontin and percocet I am then giving medication information if I answer them. They can get those questions answered by their pharmacist or doctor. They can also do their own research. The links above will help and you can find anything on Google. General answers are ok. I can say that Paxil is an anti-depressant. It's the technical answers we want to avoid. Thanks all, MG |
