I'm sorry

I apologize for my little tantrum in the thread "Those goof balls".

It's now closed, So I'd like to clear a few things up here.

"This thread is just an example that I thought would be as good a place as any to post this in."

Number one is that I simply used that thread as a place to put my post, it was in my opinion an effort by some to gang up on the original poster, who had in turn instigated them. While I do believe the thread was an example of the judgemental and subtly hostile behaviour (from both sides) I was whining about, I fully admit it was pretty civil. Not quite flaming, but not very positive either. It probably wasn't the best thread to post in, and I had no idea this forum was new or I wouldn't have disrupted it.

I've been in a really bad place mentally lately, I've stood in my own way and thwarted my efforts to stop with amphetamines. I'm full of self loathing and a generally negative and angry mood. I'm really in no place to be telling anybody how to properly use medications right now. I overreacted mostly because of what was going on inside my own head, not in that thread (hey, I rhymed!).

I'm not going anywhere, but I may be a bit of a sourpuss until I figure things out and get my head screwed on straight.

So once again, sorry :/

Also, ksos, I tried pming you but it said you weren't receiving pm's at the moment. I guess your inbox is full :/

Thanks Joe. It takes a lot of courage, strength, and integrity to appologize.

I realize that some threads may at times appear to be on the hostile side even if it is in a subtle manner. One thing to keep in mind when reading threads is that many of the topics presented can be triggers or sore spots for some of those reading them. For me a trigger is someone stating that taking medication is sobriety means they are not sober. I have my personal reasons for that and am working on responding to those posts in a less hostile manner as I realize my responses can at time has that subtle bite to them. It is many times hard to convey what a person means in this type of format. We can not see facial or body expressions that might otherwise give us indications of what the persons true intent it by what they are saying. If you read many of my posts where I have an issue with the OP's opinion you will see that I post my response to the thread and then rarely come back to state my opinion further that way I avoid running into an arguement type situation. I just let my opinion stand on its own merit.

Hang in there. I have found a lot of experience, strength, and hope in these forums. Some times I have to take what I can use and leave the rest. Glad to see you did not leave.

We all get triggered by threads and posts. As moderators we try to sit on our hands for 30 minutes before replying when we are triggered or we turn it over to someone else. It really helps to take a step back when we feel our emotions stirred.

You are not alone in your reactions. We all have them.
