DUCT TAPE! I love Duct Tape. Two essentials in life are duct tape and WD40. If it's moving, duct tape will hold it, if it's not moving, WD40 will get it going. Right now I have duct tape holding the plastic trash bag over the hole where my rear passenger side car window used to be. (I keep a roll in the car for when the bag blows off going down the highway) OMG, I'm such a redneck. You can also make a really cool hammock when you are camping with a roll or two (depending on the size) of duct tape.

ahh yes.. duct tape... I've built a sauna in the boonies with garbage bags and duct tape .... and hot rocks of course... Quote:
I knew a guy that used fresh duct tape on his cowboy boots every day... He had holes in the bottoms.. and the sides were split... so.. he'd just wrap duct tape all around the middle of the boot.... I bet he got another year outa the boots.. but.. like I pointed out to him.. the cost of the duct tape he probably could have afforded a new pair... and he said to me... "it's easier to come up with 7 bucks than it is to come up with a coupla hundred". lol.. couldn't argue with that. | |

my best duct tape story is true but not my own my parents were on a 3 day canoe trip...2 canoes...one hit rocks & got an 8 inch hole...for 2 days they drained water & kept duct taping the hole!...both couples had full rolls.........it worked! ps if you keep duct tape & 2 pair or needle noses clamps thre is almost nothing you can't "fix".....sorry another woman for duct tape!!!!!!!!!

This thread sure got turned around. Maybe we should start a "women for duct tape club!" When I was in college, I duct taped the rust spots on my old Impalla car to keep more water from getting in there. Right now I have duct tape on my window screens to make them kitty-proof. I'd like to add twistie ties to our list of things never to be without (duct tape and WD40). At my fist house, the tiolet kept running and I fixed it by using a twistie tie in the toilet tank. Chaulk up another one for woman's ingenuity! --phinny

Pick up the "1001 uses for duct tape" book at most camping or large book stores. lol We always have duct tape in the camp box. Nothin' it can't fix. My husband and a friend duct taped his friends kid (ADHD) to a beach chair because he wouldn't sit still. He is now 18 and to this day if we are camping and you pick up the duct tape he runs.
