OMG!!! I have this book!! I kid you not! It is titled "The Woman You Want to Be" also known as "Margery Wilson's Complete Book of Charm" copyright 1928. Revised (no doubt "modernized" in '35, '38 and '42) Lippincott. I believe that some items may have been taken out of context, as Ms Wilson seems to use her powers for both good and evil (thanks Arura ) Quote - chapter 3, page 225 - "So long as a man is pleased he isn't very particular just how it is accomplished. This knowledge gives a woman her only great advantage. If she can soothe his ego, amuse him and keep his mind entertained with an image of himself that makes him fairly purr with satisfaction, she may deny him other things he thought he wanted." ROFLMAO!!! How many times have we done that!!! (oh - should this move over to the womens room? hee hee)

HOLY S#&%! I'd title it, "How to Be A Rageful, Soulless Codependent..." What the hey...let him drink, spend all the money and run with floosies (don't ya like how I used a 1950s word?)...smile Kiss his A## and "take it!" Isn't that what I just (JUST) walked away from... Yikes...Thank God it's not 1950 (1850?) or whenever That was, anymore....this in the wrong hands could be disastrous... I didn't laugh...but clasped my palm over my mouth and gasped...yikes TY Kari

I KNEW there was something wrong back when I was married! I KNEW there was something my girlfriends just weren't getting right! That's what I was promised when I was growing up. When I became an adult, no one delivered. And everyone said it was ME! ... We had a good thing going guys -- what happened? . . . [Quickly ducks before a bunch of high-heeled shoes are thrown at him] ... I'm JUST KIDDING, gals!!! ... It is amazing how sensibilities have changed. You're right Margo, it wasn't that long ago either. Ever watch "Leave It To Beaver" as an adult? Back then, the biggest problems in school were things like uncombed hair and talking out of turn. My, how times have changed. I'm not trying to draw a relationshp between the two. Its just amazing how quickly things can change. When I was a kid, it was considered perfectly acceptable to punch a guy in the nose for insulting you or being rude to your wife, (check out "Its A Wonderful Life" for example, although I'm not *that* old). These days it'll get you locked up for assault. Me personally, I'd rather have a "whole" woman rather than a servile "dependent". On the other hand, some women take it too far. A relationship is supposed to be about both persons loving and caring for each other's needs and desires. These days, when some women say "father for my kids" or "husband", what they really mean is an on-demand sperm donor and wallet.

A golfer stood over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity. Looking up, looking down, measuring the distance, figuring the wind direction and speed. Driving his partner nuts. Finally his exasperated partner says, "What's taking so long? Hit the blasted ball!" The guy answers, "My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse. I want to make this a perfect shot." "Forget it, man, you'll never hit her from here!"
