Well I quit smoking 7 days exactly now and hmm well is it normal to wake up in the morining tasting ciggaretts in your mouth?? My chest feels alot clearer and I did notice my skin change and some of my smell has been slowly creeping back. But sometimes my chest hurts a little is that normal???

Hi TTBS - sometimes us exsmokers can start to taste cigarettes because (I know this sounds gross) we have nicotine stains on our teeth and after not smoking for a few days we begin to taste it. One of the nicest things you can do for yourself after quitting is to schedule a cleaning with your dental hygienest - your mouth will love you for it! If you have concerns about an achey chest it might be best to see your doctor just to get an all-clear - different ex-smokers have different symptoms after quitting so it can be hard to say what's normal and what might not be. Congratulations on making it through Hell Week - keep up the awesome work! |

Good Job, TTBS!!! ![]() Another thing with the early quit and tasting cigs is that nicotine is still caught in the little sacs in our lung. Some may be escaping and you can taste it. It takes up to 9-12 months to clear the lungs out completely. Kudos on Hell Week; We're here for you the rest of the way!!! ![]() Shalom!
