I pulled up last night to a meeting...there was one person standing outside smoking...as I pulled up and saw the one person...I thanked God for relieving me from the bondage of smoking. I don't have to stand outside in the sub-zero temps and freeze my buns off. I "wish" today I could smoke...a little stressed out...Christmas party at the Fire Department...we're in charge of the entertainment committee...will they like it? What will we do if they don't? Self doubt. Self...blah! Screw it, if they don't like it...they can frickin' witch about it and get over it. I don't need to smoke to calm my nerves...my disease thinks so...I'm practicing step 3 again today..."turning my will and my life over to the care of God, as I understand Him".

I need to remember my gratitude and just get over it. A cigarette is NOT going to make me feel better...it's going to make me feel ashamed, pissed off, etc because it will be another "failure". I've come too far to give up now....

My name is Jen, and I am a nicotine addict.
I have stopped nicotine for 8 months, 19 days, 17 hours, 24 minutes and 20 seconds (263 days).

I've not smoked 7912 death sticks, and saved $1,415.67.
I've saved 27 days, 11 hours and 18 minutes of my life.

Blessings..and have a great weekend all...

Keep up the great work!! Keep telling on ourselves!!!

Blessings,
Jen

I almost went to store twice today and tonight for cigs but caught myself.
Jen, 7912 of not smoking those cigarettes. WOW My name is Brian and I am a nicotine addict and recovering alcoholic. Does feel great to breath and not have to use inhalation aerosol. Need it after each cigarette. How dumb that was. My bottom, I hope. Have a good night all without smoke poison.

Ya know, I am sick right now. I have pnemonia or broncitis; awaiting word from the doc to know for sure.
Anyway, I am coughing like a fool!
And I can remember when I coughed like this regularly! OY!
I'm so glad that is over.
I'll be more glad when this is over, whatever it is!

I am now One year, one week, three days, 13 hours, 27 minutes and 33 seconds nicotine free. That's 15022 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,131.16. Life saved: 7 weeks, 3 days, 3 hours, 50 minutes.

Keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!

8 months, 3 weeks, 41 min.

I really want to smoke. It's been a pretty bad obsession for the past couple days.

I saw someone throw a cigarette out of their car window on the highway, and I told my husband "STOP! go get it!!" lmao. That's pathetic.

One month, four days, 13 hours, 11 minutes and 58 seconds. 690 cigarettes not smoked, saving $138.20. Life saved: 2 days, 9 hours, 30 minutes.

I know how you all feel.... I struggle a bit but last night was the Charistmas party and no one in the office really smokes... just a couple. Last year I remember stepping outside to have a cig with my date and not only being cold, but missing the fun inside.... actually I ended up sitting at the stuffy table last year only because that was the only place left when I came back in from smoking.....

This year it was nice to be able to be social, enjoy my co workers and not have to step out to the bar or outside to smoke.... I did really enjoy that. SO... I will just have to stay a non smoker.... actually its weird Im starting to like it now.

Hang in there all....

A 3 pack deal is $14.77 State just added a one dollar tax on each pack few months ago and I smoked 2 packs a day. Cartoon around $50.00 What I like is the 550 cigs not smoked. I was going to quit anyway but the new tax pushed me over the cliff sooner.

One week, six days, 18 hours, 3 minutes and 35 seconds. 550 cigarettes not smoked, saving $130.92. Life saved: 1 day, 21 hours, 50 minutes.

Brian;
I agree. WHen we share the struggle, it lessens it somehow.
Even though we are all walking our respective paths alone, we know we can come here and share and others will and DO understand!
Thanks for being a part of it!
And kudos to all of us!!! We are living miracles, each day!

Shalom!

Cynay,
That's been my point exactly!
Do something different!
It's all about behaviors...at least it was for me. And making new routines, like you did with the computer in the morning.
Brushing teeth after meals. Walking. Different ride to work...

You know, I expected to have strong cravings to smoke when I moved back home. I lived here for 20 years, smoking like a fiend. But, I didn't experience any! All those changed behaviors I've aquired in the past year have become habitualized now. And that's a wonderful feeling!

Today, I am One year, one week, six days, 1 hour, 54 minutes and 35 seconds nicotine free. That makes 15123 cigarettes not smoked, saving $4,158.87. Life saved: 7 weeks, 3 days, 12 hours, 15 minutes.

Keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!
