Because boy oh boy am i smoking again. LOTS! More than I EVER did!!!! So have a scrip for Wellbutrin from my doctor and started on that three days ago. Hopefully it will also help with this godawful funk and depression I've been in. I have set a quit date of March 17.

Hope this inspires you, rider. I started taking Wellbutrin on Jan. 21st with my quit date to be two weeks later. But due to a terrible bout of smoker's cough at 3 AM, I was forced to move my quit date to only one week of Wellbutrin. My withdrawal pangs have been so much less than I expected. I quit seven years ago for five years and (STUPID, STUPID) smoked for almost the last two years. First time I used the patch and peppermint candy but was still a horrible witch to live with according to my husband. I do remember the waves of craving slamming over me...like I was being swept away. This time with the Wellbutrin I have hardly any cravings....especially not the ones that feels like you've been kicked in the stomach. And my hubby is still smoking around me and I'm hardly bothered at all. But when I do think I might give in I remember the morning that I woke up at 3 AM and couldn't even breathe because I was coughing so hard. Anyway, good luck with your meds.....I pray they help you as much as it is helping me...

Thanks Sass. I tried wellbutrin many years ago and it ALMOST worked. I definitely didn't feel a big desire to smoke. BUT didn't really want to quit then. Now I do and I hope that makes all the difference this time. Thanks for the prayer.

Hi, Rider! March 17th, huh? Hey, you'll have the luck of the Irish to help you along! :HOPatrick I used welbutrin and the patch; the gum occassionally. Use whatever helps you. And now that you're ready, you can do it. Remember focus on changing those smoking behaviors. Cigarette smoking is 10% addiction and 90% behaviors. The wellbutrin and the patch give you the opportunity to change those behaviors. And that change will keep you quit. Remember to check in daily. It helps to be acountable. ![]() I am now Three months, six days, 4 minutes and 17 seconds smoke free. That's 3920 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,078.03. Life saved: 1 week, 6 days, 14 hours, 40 minutes. Shalom!
