Oh... Not sure if you will all know this, but the west of Scotland is probably the nicotine capital of the world. It seems like everyone and their dog smokes, especially in pubs. I was at a school reunion on saturday night, meeting people I haven't seen for 20 odd years. Debbie, my old bud, smoked like a chimney all night but I managed not to be drawn in. Why was it then that I asked her for a smoke when we were heading off to another pub? I carried it about for an hour then finally succumbed just before 1am. Duh. Actually, I think the pub was so smoky that everyone inhaled 2 or 3 anyway! Roll on March and the smoking ban in public places! So.... (I think I have to take 5 minutes off this, since I cheated on saturday night) I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 3 Days, 11 hours and 30 minutes (17 days). I have saved £90.01 by not smoking 349 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 5 hours and 5 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 09/02/2006 22:30

Jane; OK, You slipped and realized that you don't want to continue. That's a very positive thing to recognize! ![]() What did you learn? Since you''ve been quit for such a long time, it was NOT a physical craving. So, what were you feeling/thinking/doing? What could you have done differently? And you know, I often wonder something. Why are you focused on the one you smoked , rather than the 349 cigarettes you didn't smoke! Perspective matters! Glad you jumped right back on the horse. Be careful now, though, cuz one slip makes it easier to slip again. And again.... Keep the quit and post before you puff! ![]() Shalom!

| I think this was an exceptional weekend, I had one girl staying I haven't even seen in years and was apparently so nervous that I came out in a rash lol. Daft, isn't it? Also seeing Deb and being around her - well we were big pals when I started smoking. I'd also just gone into a pub after the hotel, something I very very very rarely do. I think that took me back too. Weird. Didn't like the pub very much, and yes, I think the beer had something to do with my willpower crash. What could I have done differently? Probably not put myself in a stress-filled situation so soon after stopping, and not acted like the indestructable 16 year old hanging about with Debbie made me feel. On a normal night out I'd have smoked about 20, but this time I didn't even want another one - at all. Still don't, so I'm concentrating on the.... I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 3 Days, 13 hours, 28 minutes and 15 seconds (17 days). I have saved £90.43 by not smoking 351 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 5 hours and 15 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 09/02/2006 22:30 That I've achieved instead of concentrating on the slip. Oh, I'll get there How you doing today? Jane xxx Ps you know, it is good to come clean somewhere. I like being accountable.
