(((Rider))) Sorry for your broken heart. But, I'm glad you learned alot about not smoking during these weeks. Would you care to share them with us? I think we could all benefit from it. As far as the Welbutrin goes, one needs to take it for two weeks prior to the quit for it to be in the system and work as intended. If you feel you need an antidepressant for other reasons, by all means. But, if you want to use it for quitting, and you've already quit again, well, it's too late. But, that's a good thing, really! Now, no more kicking yourself. Think of all the smokes you DIDN'T have during your quit. Perspective is everything. And continue to check in daily to let us know how you're doing. Remember to keep the quit and post before you puff! ![]() Shalom!

teach, i think the most important thing i learned is that the thought of quitting smoking is much, much, worse than the actuality of not smoking. and that it doesn't hurt not to smoke. it's uncomfortable, yes, but that goes away and i can get past it. it is discomfort, not life threatening. and the other thing i learned.... i cannot have a drink. at all. none. i will buy a pack of cigarettes quicker than you can say wine if i have any alcohol at all. sigh.

Rider, Thank you for sharing that! I agree, the anticipation of not smoking IS far worse than the actuality of it! In fact, I read another article today about those who quit on impulse have a greater success rate than those who plan. Interesting, since the recomendation is normally to plan out your quit. But, it does indeed intensify that anticipation...and the anxiety that goes with it. I must be very careful with drinking too. I haven't quit, but, I'm hyper-vigilant about where I smoke and with whom. Especially since my sister took me to the only bar in FL that was openly fighting the no smoking law. That was tough... ![]() But, I made it! ![]() Be well, and continue to share with us your journey on the daily check in, ok? ![]() Shalom!
