Wow. Are you using the patch, or nicotine gum or any nrt? That really helped me take the "edge" off. I'm using gum. I went from using one piece every two hours to now using two to three pieces a day, in a month's time.

Don't give up....it does get better.

OMG, I'm so sorry you're feeling so awful. Try deep breathing, meditation, prayer, going for a walk, doing anything to keep busy....call someone...take a shower.

Five,

Now that you're doing a bit better.......are you using any nicotine replacement...like the patch or nocotine gum? It can really be helpful.

Just hang in there, Five. It DOES get better.

It does always pass...
But, why no assistance when you are clearly having such a hard time with it?
And what behaviors are you adopting to replace those smoking behaviors?

You CAN do this. But, there's no prize for suffering the most, ya know...

Shalom!

Go and beat up that green thingy!!!!

No seriously if it gets just too much, lozenges work really well but taste crap! patches are good too.

Failing that go lick out an ash tray.... that is rather effective although i have not done that myself, the thought was enough. Gum drove me crazy and tastes crap too.....

I quit smoking twice by going cold turkey....

Unfortunately I am still smoking!!!!! AGAIN

BUT

You will be there later when I need some moral support when quitting
SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

Try running up and down the stairs, write a list of all the reasons why you wanted to quit in the first place....dont do this at the same time because the writing gets all wobbly and you wont be able to read it later...

I was informed that the craving lasts for 5 minutes the rest is purely pshycological...... erm.... that didnt help did it...

Anyway KEEP GOING I am in awe of you

If all else fails...

Beat up the green thingy

Love

Five;
The physical withdrawal is 3-5 days tops. After that, it's all psychological.
Have you read the other posts on this forum? There's LOTS of good infomation, on the stickies and the threads themselves.
Focus on what behaviors you are using to get you past the urges. You want to build up a repetoir to put in your tool kit. An assortment of tools allows us to grab the right one for the right occasion.

Bike;

Now, THAT'S funny! LOL!
And the licking the ashtray too!
What a warped sense of humor!!! I LOVE it,

Keep the quit and post before you puff!

Shalom!

Don't know

What I did wonder is what is inside it?( the green thingy)would it be green slimey stuff or would it be sort of stuffing type material? you know sort of like that is highly falmmable? well if it is its a good thing you quit smoking because you might have caught her alight....

Thoughts and prayers are with you
