Boy I'm having a tough time today!! Only day #2, and I feel like I'm going to tear someone's head off! Yesterday was fine, I really didn't feel badly at all. In fact, I had some good things happen, so was on a natural high most of the day. But today is rough. I just had to make an emergency chocolate run so I don't grouch at my boys. Getting out of the house helped some, and now I'm stuffing my face with York peppermint patties and Hershey's nuggets. I'm sure my kids will thank me, but my waistline may not! Oh well. One battle at a time!! |

Day 3 equals the body being fully free of nicotine. Peeled baby carrots and celery does well for a bit of time. Healthier for the waste line as well. Drink plenty of water and maybe think of things to do with all the added energy you will have. A natural high of energy and no place to put it can cause a nice person to grouch *LOL*

Well, I cleaned my house, and cleaned out the garage and basement today. Brought in a few loads of wood for the fire. I didn't sit idle, that's for sure! I will start on the carrots and celery. It's just that chocolate is SUCH a comfort!! (and yummy, too!) I'm going to start back into my exercise routine next week. I think I'll hit it in the early morning, which is when I was usually smoking the most. So that will certainly give me something to do other than complain about my cravings!! |

Exercise routine is very, very good to do!!! You will be replacing your negative addiction with a positive one. And smoke counselor says that having a replacement behavior that will be negatively effected if you smoke is the best insurance for not smoking again! I started going to the gym a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it! ![]() So, why you waiting for next week? Get your sneakers on and start walking around the block, if you cannot do anything else! ![]() Keeping busy; meditation; deep breathing are all good ways to let the urge pass without biting someone's head off! Keep on posting! You're doing GREAT!!! ![]() Shalom!

Next week meaning Monday, tomorrow! I actually get to sleep in a little on the weekend (6am), but during the week I'm up at 4:30. The kids don't get up until 6:30, so that's the perfect time for me to jump on the bike and hit the weights!! Wow, I could even get my Tae Bo tapes out again!! I'm doing OK this morning. Not too edgy, just lacking something to do with my hands. It sometimes seems that the "routine" is the hardest thing to break. You know, I get done cleaning, take a smoke break. Have lunch, take a smoke break. Do whatever, take a smoke break. So it's those down times when I ususally smoke that it's time to find another activity. Maybe I should get one of those squeezy things to make my hands strong or something. The deep breathing is definitely a good way to get past the bad cravings. I just have to remind the kids that when they see Mommy walking around doing deep breathing, STAY OUT OF THE WAY!!! LOL. |

Hi, I dont smoke. I used to , but quit cold turkey,It was one if not the hardest thing ive ever done. I did gain some weight ( at first ), but changed that quickly by excercising. I consulted with my doctor about ways of not going back to the habit. Now, he said to start running, jogging, power walking not necessarily in that order. He said it would curve the cravings. Of course my attitude was " he doesnt know, hes never been a smoker "---well--- IT WORKED!!!!!! Really well to boot! I now run everymorning ( however not lately, because I have a broken leg ), but I cannot wait until the cast is off. Ill be right back out there. You sound like your doing just fine. Keep up the good work!, and oh, the peppermint patties sound delicious. Thanks for the craving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jennifer (( roses2005 ))

Sounds like you've got a plan of action that will serve you well, Webbie! Good for you! Keep us posted as to how you're doing. ![]() Oh, and the American Cancer Society gave me this flexible stick for my hands. It's kind of like a gumby, where you can bend it all different ways. It helped me, expecially in the beginning! ![]() Roses, sorry to hear about your broken leg. And while I'm in FL this week, I'm doing the power walking to help keep up with the work outs I was doing at the gym back home. It's working thus far! ![]() Keep the quit and post before you puff! Shalom!
