Experiencing some...er....constipation? (And don't tell me I'm full of sh!t!!!) Sorry...don't mean to be gross.... Just wondering if this is a *normal* experience in quitting... And I now have two weeks, two days, 11 hours, 56 minutes and 53 seconds smoke free. That's 659 cigarettes not smoked, saving $181.47. Life saved: 2 days, 6 hours, 55 minutes. ![]() Shalom!

Congrats on your clean time!!!!! I do not know if constipation is normal stop smoking side effects but, perhaps if you started drinking more water it could help also try adding more fiber to your diet... "Uncle Sam's" cereal is the best helper I know of....

Hmmm....never heard of that cereal! Water, yes, and I am drinking lots of it and decaf, herbal tea. I do need more fruits; I'll try to be better there, cuz, I know you're right... Thanks, Splendra! ![]() Shalom!

Interesting point! Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm smelling things better; can't really say any taste has returned yet... How the heck could we have done this to ourselves for so long... ![]() Shalom!

I've noticed similar bodily functions operating a bit differently than they used to. One primary factor is the numerous chemical compounds in cigarettes. They cause fluids to be expelled by the body before complete metabolism--not afterwards. The blowback consequence to that leads to a smoker's perpetual general malaise and weakness. Smokers often feel sick despite eating well and feel even worse when not eating well. Nicotine directly affects both the ATP Loop & the Na-K Pump--the two cellular functions crucial to fluid balance. So what's the point? The point is--once you quit smoking, your body can absorb the fluids normally--the way your body is supposed to absorb them. Post-metabolic Absorption. As processes normalize, some fluid retention may occur. I've gained about 3 or 4 pounds in the last two months. And I'm sleeping a LOT better. No more java, either. I miss my coffee... |
