New and saying hi

Hi all,

I have just recently joined this site as I am looking for support and education as my AH is two weeks into rehab. I also want to offer any support and any advice needed as I quit smoking 17 months ago (after 24 yrs) with the support of the patch, popcorn and a web site called Quitnet.com. For those of you that would like to track you quit, this is a great site. They have a counter that states your quit date, how many days you been quit, how many cigs you have not smokes, how much money you have saved, and how much time you have added to your life. You can also learn what your body is going through while quitting...i.e - why so much gas.

Good luck to all. It's a journey but soooo worth it. Shout out if you need anything.

Kelly

Welcome Pup!!

Congrats that your AH has gotten into rehab - I bet you sleep good this week!

Though the current addicts in my life are both my kids, I can tell you something that I found surprising.... I got more nervous the closer we got to the "go home" date from rehab and sobriety was more difficult for me to live with than active addiction.

Though Alanon, I discovered the answers to those why those things were happening...

If I could only tell you ONE thing I could do to feel better - it would be to join Alanon and to try about 6 meetings before deciding if it is right for you.

I wish you the best - and there are some great posts at the top of this (Naranon) forum that you might find helpful.

See you around!!

Oh egad... I am sorry, I must have clicked on "new posts" and didn't realize I had wandered out of the Naranon forum... and over here to the quit smoking forum....(AND I posted even after I had even cut and pasted your link to Quitnet to my sis - who IS trying to quit smoking...).

Oh well - the unasked for advice is still valid I think... and I do welcome you and wish you well....

I hope I didn't confuse you.... I know I confused me!

Thanks Kelly! I am on Day Six.."I think". I say that because I have lost track of my days! lol
Oh well, at least I have not lost my sense of humor! I have webtv so I cannot download that clicker. Guess I better get my calculater out? lol

I am doing pretty good aside from this nasty cold. I suppose my lungs are getting rid of some much needed junk.

Nice to meet you, and I hope to see you again!!

Hi, Kelly;
ANd WELCOME to SR!!!

I'm on day 5. I've got the patch, zyban, the gum, a smoke cessation class, and the quit net meter along with awesome support right here on SR!

I'm glad your AH got to rehab. My son is a heroin addict; in jail again... I welcome you to come on over to the naranon forum. There you'll get lots of support there from the anon side of things.

I now have four days, 9 hours, 3 minutes and 36 seconds. 175 cigarettes not smoked, saving $48.15. Life saved: 14 hours, 35 minutes.

I hope to see you here often as we both grow in our recovery.
Shalom!
