back again

Well, it's my third go at it.

I had a smoke this morning in the car on the way to work, 8 hours ago.

I've got some nicotine gum and a whole lot of anti-smoking adverts in my head.

Can't wait to get to bed and for tomorrow to come!

That's all I can say. But tomorrow will be a better day, and the spiders running up and down my veins will have gone on holiday.

I'm still here, I'm still here I'm still here.

I'm eating like a PIG and will probably end up spherical but with less chance of really, really horrible diseases.

I've also decided that I'm not going to get a bravery medal for denying myself nicotine chewing gum so it's a much more comfortable day.

Hey, my chest is going up and down smoothly and I don't have "machine-gun cough" all the time.

it's just the long-haul that gets to me, and scary things like the photo-shoot that drove me back to tobacco the last time.

Bahookie,
Congrats!!!
And those other attempts were not failures, as I've come to understand. They were practice sessions. Afterall, a musician isn't able to perform in a concert on the first attempt at his/her instrument, right? No, of course not! They need to practice. And some need to practice more than others!
I've done LOTS of practice at quitting!
So, pat yourself on the back for the good things you are doing for yourself.
ANd call 1 800 Try To Stop. You'll get so much information and support and practical, material help. I did. And I'm now in a smoke cessation class with free nicotine gum, (had the choice of gum or patches.) And I get telephone counseling from the Cancer Society. And workbooks to help me along the way.
I'd say my practice is paying off.
I think yours will too!
So keep it up! We're with ya all the way!

Shalom!
