Quit day Nov 26 - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I have been in and out of this forum for a while now. I guess I wasn't ready to quit. Well Now I am, I have been taking Zyban, my quit day is 2 days away. I have printed a ton of stuff of off here, I have signed a personal contract from my Zyban book. I have the nicorette inhalers. I am all set!!!

I am nervous and excited most of the time, other times I feel down about quitting. But I am ready, enough is enough, I don't need to smoke, I won't die from quitting. I will die if I don't quit. My Mom died from emphysema (sp?) when I was 22, she was only 53. I need to stop, I want to stop, I am ready!!!

Hi Roxy! Congratulations on your decision - it could be the best thing you will ever do for yourself. Sounds like you've got everything lined up ready to go - very smart! The emotional rollercoaster you describe is really common, but should settle down once you're into your quit. There's a few of us here that recently quit, so we're happy to have you join the ranks. Keep us updated on how you're doing - and best of luck to you!
