OK, This is it!!

Now how many times have I said that in regards to drinking and quitting smoking!?! Hubby and I have 5 packs left. Then, I don't want to buy anymore.

What worked for you? The patch? Some say to use the Steps just like with AA. Tried to get my pysch Dr. to give me Welbutrin, but he said it would work for my "mental problems" hehe!! Guess I gotta take care of those!!

Right now, I have over a year sober. Been useing the "no major changes in a year" thing long enough!! Just scared I'll mess up my sobriety without my other crutch!! Just another excuse I guess!!

I've even been hypnotized, it worked for a while, until I started smoking again. You know I couldn't imagine not smoking while drinking!! LOL And, not drinking was not an option at the time!!

We don't smoke in the house and it is really getting cooler outside. Just don't want to go through another winter, standing outside, or in my garage smoking like an idiot!!

This is all real easy to say, while I'm puffing on one!! LOL But I really think it's time to take action and do something about this!!

Wish me luck and any suggestions are welcomed!!
Missy

Hi Missy,

I use patches, keep busy, do everything different and bathe in my health returing every single day.

I was smoking 50 a day and hated it, it was aslo making me very sick and getting in the way of my recovery.

Well $hit!! My resolve to quit smoking desolved pretty quickly. Thought I'd just have one before work, which turned into 3. Didn't smoke at work, but am having one now on my lunch hour.

Thought I'd try not smoking at work or in the car. Heck, I don't know. My sis was able to do that and then she quit. Maybe it's a start, maybe it's not a great idea with my addictive personality. All I know is my sobriety comes first, and I'll keep working on the rest!!

Missy, I'm only on day two as I write this, an alcoholic also. Your sobriety is essential, congratulations on your year. I've quit cigarettes, I've been scared shitless this week with my body 'warning me' that my smoking has got to stop and stop today! I'm 37 and couldn't breathe, still cant grab a full breath now. I've realised I need my lungs as much as I need my liver...I'm planning on kicking both addictions, one organ is no good without the other really is it?!! I'm sure my kids would agree. Lets keep on 'Giving up'!
