Unintentionally Quit

Well this is odd. I wasn't really planning on this to happen at all. In fact, I'm quite baffled. I haven't smoked a single cigarette in four days. I also haven't been out of the apartment in four days. LoL. The view through the window for a few minutes at a time did the trick. This is really strange! I'm not as depressed as I was the last week or so, but still didn't sleep last night.

I actually felt OK today. Made a pot of my Starbuck's coffee about 6 AM & drank about 3 cups and a 'mug warmer' sip.

Good Golly Miss Molly. My teeth are falling out left & right too. Looky! There goes another one. Hahahaha.

Way to go

What I found when I quit... don't think you can have just one and do it again.
One day I just woke up and said...This is the day. No preplanning.
But then one day I made the mistake of thinking... I can have just one..
It doesn't work that way...I have found.

Thx Best. I even went about 4 days without any coffee. There was a ½ pound bag sitting in the cupboard all week. This is so bizarre. Is it humanly possible to virtually disconnect from all the addictions in such rapid fashion? I've been a coffee drinker since I was in high school (early 80's)...this morning's brew of Java just about took my head clean off.

I would think if a person puts thought to it before stopping each and every thing... that would be where the hardship comes in.
Letting go or just doing without thought would be about the same thing.
When we add stinkin thinkin I think that is where we get in our own way.

Maybe it's not of human probability, per se, rather supernatural possibility.

Well when I look back that is what I see in every area.

Supernatural intervention.

Percentages and odds say I shouldn't be here.Supernatural is the only thing that I can see that makes any sense of things.

There but the grace of God...

Today is Day 6. No patches! Only drank ½ cup of coffee from the java brewed the other morning. It's tasting a little stale & the caffeine potential just isn't there.
No Sudafed for over 2 weeks now...no Benadryl in 3 days. I could use a Benadryl or two.

Well, I'm on day 9 & hardly ANY signs of cravings, nic fitz, with or withoutdrawals!!! I'm gonna take a walk to the store and buy some Hostess treats and some cookies. You know, I was thinking how long exactly it has been since I had Twinkies, DingDongs, or Ho-Ho's, or even those messy little bastards of a pineapple-upside-down crumb cake. Years and years, I tell ya.
CaptainTwinkie!! My HERO.

Midas, it sounds to me that you have been doing some VERY deep, perhaps even unconscious processing of your addictions. Whatever sensations you were craving that smoking satisfied seem to have run their natural course. This may be the result of things you have learned about yourself (again perhaps unconscious) with regard to your other addictions. Anyway, I'd say: Jolly good job! You probably have a lot of wisdom that others in your life can benefit from.

Thanks for that proverbial 'pat on the back', phoenixn. I have my moments. There are periods where I don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time. It makes me angry at myself, but who's to blame? (Rhetoric) It's a damn shame. Then I have to laugh at myself eventually.

Midas,
Way to go man... all of you who hit the wagon at the same time are truly kickin butt... very proud of you...
I hope one day soon I have the oomph (um...sp?) to do the same... good luck.

Thx It's easier than most people tend to believe--I just quit buying them. LOL.

Do you realize those stupid candy cigarettes are STILL on the market today?

I'm currently not taking any prescribed meds. Don't need them. Just going with the flow. Welbutrin seems to work well from what I've read.
