Hypnosis?

Hi! I am looking for advice on the best way to quit. I cannot seem to do the cold turkey method, not enough will power. I've read some information about hypnosis...anyone have any experience?

Thanks!

I think there are many good ways to quit smoking. I did use hypnosis and quit for 18 years. I do think it helped a good deal but still the process was not totally painless. I had cravings/urges for a while after I quit. Everyone is different in that regard, for some it's a long time and others it is short.

I did pick up cigs again after all that time and smoked for about 1.5 years. I didn't pick up because I had a craving/urge though, all those had stopped years ago, it was more of a conscious decision. I told myself that I would be able to have one here and there and it would alleviate the extreme stress I was going through. All lies. It did neither and I was hooked in a short amount of time. I really hated myself for picking up again. As much as I disliked everything that went along with smoking it has been a struggle to quit again. I quit for 8 mos 3 weeks and then picked up again. My reason? Extreme stress again. Did it help or change the stress events even a little? No, not really. I now have 1 mo and grateful to HP for it. So far I have had no real cravings/urges...very unlike ANY other time I have quit. I do fully "get it" today. I can never, never have 1 puff or I am hooked again.

You will love being a nonsmoker. If you want to give hypnosis a try I would encourage you to do it. I would also read all the stickies here, they really helped and gave me perspective this last time. One of the things that has really helped is instead of pushing away/down cravings/urges I expect to have them and accept them. It may sound simple but that has helped me more than anything else.

Just keep trying to quit until it sticks and it will if you want it bad enough. It's worth it, that I can promise.
