Hubby is first day clean from cigs. I can see how edgy he is and how hard it is. Are there any suggestions for me to help him be more comfortable or that I can do to comfort and support? Should I insist on patches? He is really miserable, trying to hide it, but I can tell. I am so afraid of aggravating him or hurting his feelings. I think I have all ready done both.

My wife and I quit cigarettes in March using the patch. They seemed to take the edge off for us. For me I had to have something to reach for instead of a cigarette. I used sweet tarts, but anything would help. Chocolate, hard candy, peanuts in the shell maybe. I carried them in my cigarette pocket. After meal time was the most difficult time for the cravings. Have that alternative handy. We also had to take the patch off a night, just before going to sleep, as the dreams seemed to be pretty intense while using the patch. It worked for us.
