Do Something Different This Time If you've been quit for a while, and are concerned because you had a slip, congratulations for taking steps to get back on track. You've probably learned a lot through the days and weeks of being a nonsmoker; you can put that into practice now. Pay attention to what happened when you slipped, so you can do something different the next time. Remember that one smoking episode didn't make you a smoker in the first place; one such episode won't do so now. Couple of interesting points here...for me anyway... 1. To pay attention to what happened with a slip. For me - it was stress. It always is. I need to handle it better, but, there is an awful lot of it in my life. 2. That one slip does not make you a smoker again. I want to remember that next quit. I gave up with the first ciggie, figuring I had lost the battle. I'm still smoking... Well, I hope this helps! Shalom!
