Today has been one hell of a day. It was hard for me to even sit down today. I did really good this morning but after lunch I just had to have one. Then tonight at the base ball game I had to have one. Then tonight after supper.

So all together I had 3 cigs on Wed. That is better than my usually 20.

I am wearing a saint metal now, and everytime the urge comes upon me I rub it and pray it has helped.

I said I was going to go cold turkey but i have been doing this for so long.
So just for today I am going to take baby steps.

My husband said God help him when I start PMSing. :bitch

For me..........cutting back to 3, was miserable.
I waited all day, all day for each and every one.
I'm all or none..
I choose NONE, and now I don't wait, or cough.
Instead, I live my life.
You can too.....as long as you just don't smoke...
it gets easier....
and one day, total comfort can be yours...

comfortablynumb, Thanks for your reply. You are so right, today I did the same thing, 3 cigs again. I am such a addict. I quit smoking about 15 years ago for 6 years, I know that smoking a few is the worst thing for me. Last time I just went cold turkey.

Hopefully I can post tomorrow that I am smoke free.

True Blue - it is definitely time to concentrate on something else in your life other than smoking a cigarette. You should know...you've done it before.

That was just plain torture...trying to limit myself....
And wow..quitting for 6 years..
I seriously think this is MY LAST quit...
I just can't find any positives about smoking...NONE...
only negatives....

I know you'll get this....wow you did 6 years before, so you know how good that felt.

I quit hmmm 24 years ago, after several attempts.....cold turkey was the only way it worked for me, I kept sneaking a couple in a day before that...nope it didn't work. It amazes me that some people can have a couple a day.....just like some can have ONE or TWO beer at a time..lol......not this old hen.

Anyway you keep at it kiddo, you'll do it, yepper you will, doing the Happy Smoke Free Dance with you.

Well I know I should not really be down here since I am still smoking.

Today I failed, I smoke about 5 maybe 6. I know I am obsessing about this but that is what I do. LOL

I am blamming the Rolling Stones on my smoking today. Talk about hard to get tickets it was like chasing chickens in a chicken pen. (hen reference)

I know cold turkey is really the only way for me to go for me. So Monday I will try again. I know smoking only a few is not a good thing but it is better than my usually 20.

Thanks people for helping me. Wish me luck. I know I can do this. Shucks I beat a drug addiction that was 100 times worst than my smoking.

I lied, I did not stop cold turkey on Mon.
I am weak.
I am powerless.
I am only smoking about 4 sometimes 5 a day.
I know what I need to do.
I want to do it.
I have to do it.
I am going to do it.
It's just really hard because I really like to smoke.
I know I am obsessing over this.
I am a addict.
My God help me to win this addiction over nicotine.

Now I am just holding pepermint sticks in my hand. Too much sugar in the dum dums.

Sorry for smoking in a no smoking zone.

Hey True Blue...you said "It's just really hard because I really like to smoke" and you also said "I am an addict".

You and I, and the rest of the folks on this forum know that none of us smoke because we really like to smoke. It is Nicotine Addiction...nothing more, nothing less.

Today makes 9 weeks smoke free for me. I once thought that Nancy Reagan's words were so stupid when she said "Just Say No", but that is the only way to do it. It worked for me.
