Unhappy Ok

Wheeze! Hack! Spit!

Cold? Allergies? Nah...Cigarettes!!

My quit date is 2 packs away.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for several weeks.

I have stopped 4 times before but at about 3 months I give in.

By then it is a mental obsession not physical.

So...this quit I will use the Wellbutrin for the 1st time and prayers for the obsession.

The hardest situation I will be in is my AA meetings. I will switch to the 3 non smoking if I can find a ride. All my AA buddies who usually give me a lift smoke like mad.

I also smoke a lot while on my computer. I plan to keep cinnamon discs on my desk.

Any other ideas?

prepeeled baby carrots. Water and more water.

Not picking up that first one.
Remembering that out of 2 packs I may enjoy one ciggerette. For that one I am coughing and making myself sick with the other 39.
It is that one that gets me hooked right back again.

Quitting, like most addictions, is a state of mind.
Once you have made your mind up to DO it, then *nothing* short of that is acceptable.
I, too, have had a couple of relapses in the past., ALL of which, were a result of FOOLISHLY ignoring the law of addiction...
*Just ONE, is never one, is it?*
Not for an addict, anyway.
I am on day 35, cold turkey...and LOVING it....

Find your resolve, stick to it, and then success is yours.....
It's not easy, but IT' S a *simple* plan......

CarolD - This isn't easy.. I went through recovery for a methamphetamine addiction and I am now coming up on 3 years clean..
Its amazing how a smoking habit can be kicked using the same resolve, the same steps, the same powerfull words and the same beliefs that you own and cherish while remaining sober.

(ba ha ha - listen to me. I'm an expert on day 4..)

Good on you though.. I'm going to keep coming back here to see how you are doing Carol.. Please keep leaving posts!!!

Peeking in to see how you do it! *sigh* it's getting close to my time to, and I just don't think I have the courage.

Still moving forward..with caution.

I will give up the Wellbutrin tomorrow. My doctor thought it would help with cravings. I did not notice any effect.

Great job.

Always remember... it is that first one that catches us off gaurd.
As long as you continue saying no to that first one, you will always be a none smoker.

Wonderful Job Carol
