Ok, so I'm just 4 hours in but I'm suffering big time here. I've got 2 buddies stopped at the same time, one of them has cheated already. How on earth do you get though the Oh for goodness sake just have a fag and be a nicer person/ why do you want to poison yourself? I know this will pass but if one more person asks me a stupid question here in work today I just might explode. ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! J |

Know the feeling J. The bloody arguments in the head are a nightmare. I deal with them by trying not to engage. Someone once told me that arguing with my addiction is like stepping into the ring with a heavy weight boxer...dont do it cos eventually you are going down. So now when those voices start i tell them to bog off and remind myself that for the next 5 mins i will not smoke. Good luck J. You can do it. |

Keep going, after about 3 or 4 days it's gone. Promise. But for three days it is hell, but once you're out the other side, it is well worth it. JC ps - big Bahookie

| patches patches
Yes, I discovered patches and today, despite being stuck in snowy traffic for an hour before work I feel totally fine. Hooray hooray hooray! There are now 4 of us quitting and we are all hanging on in there. One of the guys is hiding in our house today and stoking the fire to avoid all cigarette contact. I actually think that we're all going to do it ![]() Last night I sat in a room with 4 people smoking and walked away slightly grinding my teeth but without a puff. Thank you for your replies, it means so much to have understanding. Day 2 begins optimistically!!! Hooray hooray hooray. You're all great ![]() Jane xxx |

| My first week was toughest...
Hang in there, detoxing isn't easy, call someone, talk about it. The battle in my head is hard not to listen to.

| Day 3
Hey See if a friend calls you at 2.30am when you've taken your 16 hour patch off 3 hours ago? Well, you feel like you've been hit by the "have a smoke" bus, right in the face. However, I am blessed with a talent for sleep and today has started ok. It did take another massive dose of raspberries, but I've made it to work past many cigarette shops. Thank you for the support everyone, it is massively appreciated. I have bored everyone around me with my self-obsessed withdrawal talk. I'm off to phone another one ![]() Hugs to you all Jane xxxx |
