| In yer dreams, pal.
I quit smoking July 27 , 2003. That's almost 14 months ago. I must have smoked an entire carton last night in my dreams, though. I have heard of using dreams, but cigarette dreams???? Every time I dozed off I had a wild dream where I was smoking like a chimney and feeling very perplexed about it all. When did I start smoking again? It was so hard to quit, is it all ruined? Boy this feels good! Then I would wake up and realize (again) that I am still a non smoker. Even after over a year, I know that if I had even a drag I'd be up and away in no time. It is that powerful. That's really scarey. Lately I have been forgetting sometimes that I did quit. I think of getting a pack at checkouts and then REMEMBER that I haven't had a cigarette for over a year. I think of having a quick smoke before starting long tasks and then REMEMBER. It's weird. But except for in my dreams... I'm hanging in. LOL

I am so proud of you, Smokeless Smoke, really I am. Sadly, I gave in a while back, am not smoking much but just struggle. It caught me offguard and I really have no idea why I started again, but very very soon, this girl will be smelling like a rose again. So take a HUGE pat on the back from one who KNOWS that it is a lot harder than it looks. You inspire me, Smoke, and that says it all!!! Love you Smokeless Smoke Ann

I've had smoking dreams too and in the dreams I am always smoking and then suddenly go to myself "Oh my god why am I smoking I quit that!?!?" The weird thing is before I quit smoking I never had a dream about having a cigarette in my hand or mouth. It's definitely harder to keep non smoking. I know there have been stressfull times that I've almost cried wanting a cigarette. (Like hurricane #3 coming to my house.) Still smoke free though and I stopped counting days, getting closer to 2 months now. Nene |

Hiya Smoke, I quit about a month ago. I had a smoking dream, (that sounds hot...) about a week ago. I TRULY like to smoke (how disgusting is that?) so I was happy I could smoke in my dream..... When I woke up, it was the same as you, I kind of forgot that I quit, then I remembered....funny isn't it? I'm really determined this time. This is my fourth try... Well, practice makes perfect, right?

Go MOOSE! 4 sounds good. Like the completion of the sides of a box. Closing in your habit and containing it. Good idea to focus on. (I've been meditating, do you think anyone can tell?

Good for you Moose! How long have you been smoke free? The smoke dreams are part of the nico-demon's efforts to call us back. I had two of them last time I quit. It was hard not to smoke after "smoking" in my dreams. It probably has something to do with the neurotransmitters adjusting to the lack of nicotine, although I am just making an educated guess here. I quit again last night. Please wish me well. I need all the support I can get! This is where I am really weak. But, I can now feel the physical effects of smoking, and I don't like it. I hope I don't like it more than I liike cigarettes this time! Good luck to all on our quest! SHalom!

The story about thinking of buy a pack of cigs and then remembering you quit reminds me of a story that a co-worker told me. She quit smoking 10 years ago. Her and her husband went on holidays a while ago together. Her husband still smokes so he had a pack sitting on the table next to the bed. She said she reached over, grabbed a smoke and went to light the thing before she noticed her husband looking at her like she was insane. 10 years and she still forgot she quit. That scared the crap out of me. I have to wonder how a habit that addicting can be legal?!
