24 Hour No Nicotine/No Smoking Club - Part 10
It's nice now Letitgo, but come back July-October for the 100-106 temps! What, no Super Bowl for you tomorrow? You should have the beach to yourself!
I'm working 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, and plan on washing the dog when I get home. Perfect weather for that!

Beach in the morning. Then pizza and super bowl. I been spoiled this winter in warm climates. February in chicago is brutal because of snow, ice, negative temps and short days. By march you cant wait for it to end.
In and out burger for dinner. I like it better the the whataburger in TX.

For a moment there Odelle I thought you had caved on the nicotine. Yay, it was only ice-cream, yum. I'm stuffing more food into my mouth since I quit but I could do with some more weight, I'm underweight. I seem to be pacing around a bit and feel like something is missing.....Oh yeah, NICOTINE. Enjoy every bit of that ice-cream Odelle. It's going to get easier, that's the theory. Enjoy the beach legitgo.
Steely, we knew it wasn't going to be easy, but look how far we've come already. When is the last time you had ten days non-smoking? It's just the AV rearing it's ugly head in protest, that's how I visualize it, but it's not in control any longer, we are. Hang in there, we are going to make it this time!
Steely, it gets much better. The first 3 months are tough at times. Just remember not smoking doesn't harm you.
Some days I am like darn give me a smoke. The only thing it will do is make me addicted again.
As i said before i enjoyed 2 second nicotine buzz but its not worth rhe maintenance smoking and health side effects.
You should read the Alan Carr book.
I think about the ceos of tobacco companies. They are so happy for nicotine fiends. They dont have my $$ anymore.

Thanks everyone for your support. Got a really strong craving about half an hour ago but batted my way through. My head was in conflict, but feeling heaps better and glad now. That's progress. Still Up not Litup.
I agree Steely, if we fudge up our diets occasionally, it's far better than fudging up our nicotine quits. For me, sugar is so much easier to give up!
Hang in there, this dynamic trio (you, me and Tufty) will win this war! We've been slaves to nicotine far too long, time to take back our freedom and safeguard our health.

Hi Odelle,
I get these mad sugar cravings from time to time and feel compelled to eat sugar. Unstoppable. This is an unusual development for me but like you shrug and mutter hard luck, so long as I am sober. I'm going to hang in Odelle and hope Tufty returns when he's ready. Entering Day 11. Rock on.

Hey guys, you're doing amazingly!
Well my tail is firmly between my legs. I succumb to a few joints on Friday and again Saturday.
I went for a lads weekend away and with everyone else on the booze except me I caved in to the desire of a quick fix to relax with everyone.
No excuses, I should have been stronger but I probably set myself up to smoke weeks ago.
So, I'm re-setting my counter and I'm now back to day two.
Sorry to let you down guys.

Welcome back Tufty! I'm glad you didn't give in to the booze, and hopefully, a two day slip on the smokes won't set you back to square one. On another note, you didn't let us down, Tufty, quitting one addiction is hard enough, but two definitely is difficult at times. You can do this, take it one day at a time.
Steely, I'm with you, at times I feel like my head is spinning. Yes, this is hard, but starting over isn't an option for me (or you), so we'll tough it out and look forward to the day that it isn't so overwhelming. A tip I read online is to drink ice water through a straw, it is supposed to curb cravings. I am going to give it a try today. Hang in there, we are definitely making progress in overcoming the addiction and improving our health.

Thanks Odelle,
You're too kind.....actually, you really are too kind.
I've been saying to myself for twenty beedin' years that if only I didn't drink, then I could stop smoking. I haven't been drinking yet still I smoked.
The fact is I didn't even have a craving. The fact is I simply wanted to get high more than I wanted to stay nicotine free.
It's bad darts all round really.
However, I will start again.
