I calculated that at $15 a pack, I've saved about $165 so far. It would be over a thousand dollars a year. And I was a light smoker.

Day 52 Woo Hoo!

Zinger of a craving pops up every now an again, but I do not react to it.......
I have zero cravings for the drink, just a thought now and again. I have learned that thoughts are thoughts just don't act on them.

I am wondering if the craving for a cigarette will eventually just turn into a thought?????

Anybody????

That's pretty much what my cig cravings have turned into. I'm to the point now that it just barely pops into my head. Smelling stale smoke on a smoker smells so gross now. I used to smell like crap all the time.

Day 14 for me...I have unfortunately had a number of really bad cravings over the last 2 days. However I am pleased to say that I haven't acted on them so still going for this, I have to keep going. I am a non-smoker

And then there's the whole taste bud food deal. Wow! I did not realize how flavorful this corn on the cob was! Bursting with all kinds of niblet sweetness!

I had a pear the other day - holy schmoley! Could not believe how it tasted! It was like eating a morning sunrise........incredible

Leads me to the weight issue...... Anybody experiencing increased appetite?!?!

Somebody posted a virtual cake the other day and I went to the store and bought one. May need to start another thread about calorie intake.

Hi everybody! I am on Day 6 and figure it was time to chime on here and hold myself accountable with others.

And yes, appetite has increased but I am craving healthy foods (right now anyway)

I was actually shocked that as early as Day 2 this time around I was sickened by the smell of stale cigarette smoke and actually felt physically ill when I got in my car. Car has since been detailed and all is well.

I haven't had any physical cravings but am experiencing psychological cravings, reaching for the pack automatically when I go outside or the phone rings, etc.

Anyway, I feel good about this quit and am looking forward to hanging out here with you guys and gals.

alright ladybug!
Fly - I don't know how it takes, I had a serious craving the past week. It lasted for two days. Crazy.
But after 3 months I rarely think about it now. And yes, I put on a few pounds.
Day 91.

That's great ladybug!
Fly, We must be careful with and respect our new smell and taste super powers. Seriously though, I have gained some but its nothing I can't take care of. Rather be an extra few lbs now than not being able to breathe in the future.
Day 117 for me.

The cravings do turn to thoughts and eventually even those more or less disappear. I rarely think about smoking at all unless it is to think about being thankful that I quit. Or when I see somebody else smoking and feel bad for them.

Somebody mentioned missing the outside, social aspect. I've actually become completely comfortable hanging out with the smokers outside and just talking with them when I'm in that sort of situation, like after AA meetings or sometimes at work conferences. Early on, that might not have been a safe situation to put myself in, but now it doesn't bother me at all. I'm still able to enjoy the social aspect without smoking.
