| Need some encouragement/ambition HELP
Ok, gang, I need some positive words today, PLEASE! I am AGAIN attempting to put down the smokes. I have done this many many times over the years, but this time I really want to succeed!!! I have smoked since I was 14. I work out and recently started running, I WANT to be healthy and give the smokes up once and for all, I know that will only enhance my running. I am using the patch to get thru the first few days, but my mind is already wandering and it has only been 3 flippin hours w/o a smoke. I need to stay focused and I am hoping that by doing this it might help get thru the day!! Thanx guys |

Jackie Sorry I'm late getting in here, but I'm happy you joined us. The first week or so is the hardest and then you start to notice that the world smells good again and you feel just a little better in spite of your cravings. Keep picturing the non-smoking you and pretty soon you will look just like your picture. And keep sharing here, we care. Hugs Ann

Jackie; I'm sorry I am late too. Please read back on some of the "quit tips" posted. I am just like you; smoked since I was 14 and tried so very many times. But, I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!! It is MY life, damnit!!!! I WILL take control of it! But, it is hard, I know. Don't EVER give up! Let us know how it is going, ok? Shalom!

I quite smoking the end of July last year. I started smoking in 8th grade, I have attempted to quit many, many times. I hope I am successful this time. LOL. For me I can not have the first one, I equate smoking to me as alchol must be to the acholic. I just have to get past the first one. A few years ago I quit for 18 months and I lit up the first, second, and third cig and away I went back to a full time smoker. I chew a lot of gum. Phillip Morris has a good web site, it list all the ingredients in cigs. Have you even seen what they are made from, it is no wonder we want them so badly. Just say no to that first one and before you know it you will have a year behind you too.
