Telling on myself

My nicotine addiction got the better of me during a weak moment a few days ago. I am sorry to report that I took a few drags off of a smoke. After using the patch very sucessfully for the entire 8 weeks as recomended, I wasn't having physical cravings in anyway, it was completely in my head. The old "awe its just a couple drags" yada yada. Luckily it wasn't my brand and actually tasted, to my surprise, pretty nasty. Was just a good reminder that I dont want to be a smoker anymore. I dont want lung cancer, or bad breath, or yellow teeth and fingers, smelly clothes, I don't want my children to have to be subjected to my nasty habits, I don't want to throw away my money any longer. If you have just quit recently keep it up your doing great and it's not worth going back to. If your considering quitting, make a plan, pick a date, do what others have suggested works for them, and just do it!!! It can be done and you deserve to be nicotine free. mike

Mike.
Thanks.
Since I started, I've managed to keep it at half a pack a day.
And addict Dan thinks that's real good, know what I mean...
Seeing you here today just ignited a spark under my ass.
Gotta get back.

Hey Mike... on the 27th I'll have done a year, but until July 27th of last year I was stop, starting, stop, starting. I'm glad you found it yucky. Those times I cheated I didn't find it yucky enough and fell right back in. Congrats on the instant comeback!

Yup, welcome back Mike. Sometimes it takes many "tries" but the important thing is to keep trying and don't give up.

Mike, it is because of you and the other wonderful people here that I am able to report that I am coming up on 7 weeks tobacco free. Remember how you posted that link for me? It was a life saver. If I can quit you can too. Janice

Way to go!

Hey Mike,
I am glad you found it yucky too! I have had the same thought myself and just keep telling myself "it won't help matters get better", it won't make the problems go away" and as Jerry Spinger says "on a final thought" Do you really want to get throat cancer and screw up your chances of healing properly!

I had surgical spine surgery and there is no way I am going to mess that up with nicotine entering my body, that my friend is my motivation. Whatever works for you, do it, and keep doing it!

Take care of you,
Penelope
