I quit alcohol 3 weeks ago, now the cigs today. Smoked the last 3 this morning then decided that's it, no more.
While I definitely did consider cigarettes to be the lesser evil of my two addictions, now that I have been sober a while, the cigs take the top spot and have to go.
Got me thinking........what should I give up next?

Ha ha! Well done Changel.
So after quitting booze and fags you're wondering what to give up next?
I would say, be vigilant about the things you've given up ALREADY and enjoy the feeling of freedom.
It's now 51 days since I smoked. I don't want to go back to it.

You are right endlesspatience, good point. Maybe instead of give something else up, I should add something....cause waisting all my days and nights in front of the tv/computer is not as fun as it used to be.
Well done on quitting. I would bet my house on you never smoking again.

No fags for me today!
None for me today. I am very comfortable in my smoke-free life. Been on the road and most hotels are now non-smoking. Especially anything that's not a real dump. It's nice to not worry about it or be outside smoking in my pajamas first thing in the morning or staying at a crappy motel just so I can smoke in my room.

I'm very grumpy today and have a nagging headache, but I didn't give in. Cigs are hard for me to quit because (unlike alcohol) I didn't really suffer any of the health problems associated with smoking. I know cigs would eventually rob me of health just like the booze, so I also know I have got this addiction beat.
I apologised to my wife for being grumpy and she laughed and said its ok. She really appreciates all the changes I am trying to make.
Later on, my cat brought a huge rat into the house. I flipped out. I then apologised to my cat...she was not as forgiving as my wife.
