Just quit smoking - again

I think this is the 3rd time since I've been on SR. Last couple times I used the patches, lasted 3 months once. Today, out of cigarettes and money, so c/t it is.

Drinking lots of water, some apple juice and just got my lazy butt downstairs to walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I remember the "what do I do with my hands?!?!" feeling when I quit before..having a cigarette in my hand has been pretty normal for a long, long time.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Patches and e-cigs don't work because they keep nicotine in your body. How are you suppose to quit something when you're replacing it with what you're trying to quit?

I wish you the best - Water was my best friend when I quit.

Knitting or crocheting keeps your fingers busy.

So far, school is keeping me quite busy. I'd forgotten I have an e-cig but don't want to prolong getting the nicotine out of my body, so not using it. May float away with all the water I'm drinking, though

I really hope this is the last addiction I have to go into recovery for.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Great job Impurrfect!!!

Chocolate and snacks where what helped me quit this time.
Yes I gained like 6lbs but that is just temporary.
And beware of days 7 through 10... they were the worst for me

You can do it!!!

Thanks I'm on day 3, and other than my stomach not feeling so hot, it's not as bad as I thought. I realize that it may get worse, but so far the distraction methods I used for crack ("not an option..next") is helping.

I actually started this, NOT wanting to quit other than for money reasons. I had my doubts about that being enough of a reason, as I do have money coming in. Remarkably, since I did stop I really want to stay stopped for all kinds of reasons. I stopped saying "I'm trying to quit smoking" and now say "I don't smoke". Amazing how changing the way we think can change our actions?

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
