Almost 4 months now......

I've been quit smoking almost 4 months to the day. With the help of Chantix and this board I was able to overcome the nasty habit. I just wanted to check in to let those of you who remember me that I am still alive, feeling so healthy, and I am very thankful to you all for helping support me. I almost never think about smoking. I do remember how expensive and controlling it was to me, not to mention how stinky. I will NEVER go back there again.

Good to see you all!

Hi cinj,

I've been taking Chantix - actually got it prescribed about 9 mo. or so ago, took 2 months of it, quit smoking, but then started again. I had a 1 month supply left & have used that to quit smoking again . . . I am struggling with cravings though. I haven't used the Chantix exactly as prescribed because I only had about 3 weeks of it left.

It is more of a mental thing I guess and I am a practicing member of NarAnon and AlAnon so should know to use the 12 steps to give this over to my HP as well. It's just hard to let go, to totally want to give up the control and say "I never want to pick up a cigarette again." They've been such a comfort to me in times of stress.

Anyway, thought I'd stop in here and say "hello!"

Congrats Cinj!!!!!!

Fantastic job! Isn't it wonderful not to smoke anymore? Might be a good time to buy yourself a gift with some of the savings you have accumulated. I hardly remember I used to smoke anymore, this has been great.

Congrats Cinj !!

What an accomplishment ! Its encouraging to hear that you rarely think about smoking ! I'm day 9 into my quit and I'm definitely still in a mental battle over it.
Your post has inspired me !! Thank you !!
