Hi puddinface. Good luck with your quit. I'm on day 11 myself. My husband also had a better time of quitting then myself. He's been smoke free for over a month now. He's on the patch. I was on Chantix myself and it helped alot. I'm not on it anymore. The side effects really bothered me. Now I'm using the 12 steps to quit and it's working for me. Join us on the Daily check in thread. That's were everyone posts where their at in their quit. Take care

Chantix helped me quit, but I got tired of taking it and didn't finish the first month, but I did stay quit. You might experience the crazy Chantix dreams, so be prepared for epic dream sequences in about a week, lol. Good luck quitting. It's so worth it. |

Glad you are here. I used the patch for about 3 weeks then stopped. I slipped one day in almost 2 mos of no smoking. I only slipped because I relapsed on drugs for a day too. Otherwise I wouldnt have smoked. You can do it. Get past the first couple days and it gets easier.

Thanks Chiy..Todays my first day, first pill...so Im still smokin a bit...but interestingly enough I found that I wasnt thinking about when I was gonna have my next. I kept myself busy most of the day and only had one whenever I saw that cigarette pack. Tomorrow, Im keeping it from my view. Have a great day!

I would like to quit smoking for my children and my family and also myself. I want to be around for my children when they get older, I'm getting tired of smoking all of the time, and I would like to be healthier. I do not want my children to smoke when they get older b/c they saw their mom do it.

((Chicken)) Welcome!! Both my parents smoked, when I was growing up and I hated it. Then, when I was about 21, I started smoking....dumb. There are several of us on the daily check-in thread who are quitting, using various methods. This is my 2nd time on the thread...I didn't have my heart in it the last time. Hugs and prayers! Amy
