I have no side effects at all with Chantix. I'm very lucky there, I guess. And it does take away *all* the cravings for me, too. So, I'm doubly blessed. ![]() Today is day five on the Chantix. One more day. Then I quit - again. Say a prayer for me please. Shalom!

You can do it historyteach!!! That Chantix is really helpful. I didn't feel really bad at all my first couple of days quitting. Withdrawal wise that is. Unfortionally the medicine is really bothering my stomach. It still is with just 1 a day. I've always had a sensitive stomach anyway. I'll probably just deal with it a little while longer where I'm day 10 smoke-free. I don't want to take a chance of picking up cigarettes again.

I don't know Believe. Do you really want to stop? I think that's part of it to quit anything. You have to be sick and tired of it. The Chantix isn't making you sick to your stomach smoking at the same time? That helped me to stop too. I got really sick smoking on Day 1 of week 2 of the Chantix. The following day was my 1st day smoke free. I wouldn't give up. Pick a date and stick to it. No matter what. Or when you run out of cigarettes, don't buy anymore and start from there.

Hi Believe! ![]() Nice to see you here I have seen your posts on SR for quite a while now and I wanted to welcome you and also to encourage you to keep going with your stop smoking efforts. I stopped cold turkey without any meds but the thing that really impressed me is that the physical WD from nicotine really seemed to fade very quickly after the first few days. So if the cigarettes are tasting bad now would be a really good time just to do it and be done. What most of us have said is that really only the first cig tastes good and that the next 999 out of 1000 cigs taste bad. The rewards for quitting are so great this is definitely worth the effort. Please stick around and keep posting here and you will wind up done with cigarettes! |

Thanks for the welcome Dime. Yea I am gonna keep trying until I get it right. Not gonna give up. Maybe when I get sick to my stomach enough, I will stop. I am not gonna buy another pack of cig's, there are 5 left in pack. Scaredy I am really proud of you for quitting. |

It's okay Scaredy, just try again. You were doing great. I still haven't stopped, I keep saying I'm not gonna buy anymore and then when I'm down to the last one, I run out and get a new pack. No willpower whatsoever. Well right now I am down to 3 cigs, we'll see what happens. |

Hi Believe, I am a cheap person right now and I have to really stretch my pennies. Just for effect I deliberately crushed up my last smokes knowing I was throwing away money. Buying more would aggravate me the heck out of me just after destroying perfectly good ones. Don't know if that might help but I think the symbolic action helped me. Smashing them up felt good too. FWIW |
