Good Day, All:

My "name" is Stage*Bear and I am an addict. Been hunkering down on the Substance Abuse boards, but had to stop by here.

Been smoking for 5 years after a three year quit. Need to stop, my breathing is increasingly labored and, financially, it's no longer an option.

I have the patch ready for tomorrow morning. It's all I can afford today, Will check in here, too.

Welcome to the nicotine cessation forum.
Many of us can attest to the fact that we can and do overcome the addiction to nicotine. For me, it's all in changing my behaviors. When an urge hits, change what I'm doing. And make permanent changes to support my quit, like an exercise program. It helps with the expected weight gain and also reminds me immediately should I slip, with my lung capacity! LOL!

I wish you all the best. I know you can do this. Come and join us on the daily support thread; there's a group of good people there, all supporting each other as we work our quit. Hope to see you there.

Yes, definately come to the Daily check-in thread, it has played a major part in my quit!

I have had good days and bad days since I quit smoking, but the most important thing is that I have remained quit! It IS doable!
